A capital campaign has specific, concrete objective such as major infrastructure upgrade, repair, and maintenance, building a new structure, acquiring real estate , or other substantial project. A capital campaign differs from other forms of fundraising in that it is usually a substantial project that can span multiple years and cost hundreds of thousand dollars. Gifts given to a capital campaign are given in addition to normal annual pledges.
