“And walk in the way of love, just as Christ has loved us.”
The Christian Education and Open, Affirming, and Reconciling Committees have planned a church-wide theme for the 2016-2017 Program Year: “Walking in The Way of Love”. We see the chance to build on scripture from the Book of Ephesians, Chapter 5, Verse 2: “And walk in the way of love, just as Christ has loved us”.
Early Christians called the Church, The Way. You don’t belong to it; you travel it. We view this theme as more than an idea; we hope to start a movement. A movement of more than just tolerance of others. And a movement beyond simply respecting each other. We want to try to meet others in love.

Walking in The Way of Love Prayer
Loving God, I pray that you:
Remind me to see you in myself and others, knowing
we are all created in your image.
Make me a messenger of love by bringing kindness and compassion to all I do.
Empower me to make amends and seek forgiveness when I have hurt someone,
as well as speak up when I have been hurt.
Fill me with the Holy Spirit so I have the courage to advocate for anyone who is
left out, laughed at, talked about, or discriminated against.
Help me acknowledge and embrace the diverse beauty of your kingdom.
