At NCC, we say that each member is a minister. That's straight from the Bible:
we believe that God is calling each one of us to serve others, using the gifts and graces that God has
given each one of us. Here are some current opportunities!
Channeling our Church's Vitality
First is the Threshold Initiative: several small groups who will be working with staff of the Connecticut
Conference (UCC) to bring fresh ideas into faith formation, stewardship, and leadership at NCC. A great
opportunity to build on our strengths, bringing increased energy and excitement to God's work in our church. Contact
John Whritner (jawhritner [at] sbcglobal
[dot] net) or Cindy King (cindyking40
[at] gmail [dot] com) for more information.

Landscape Committee
As the Good Book says, Paul planted, Apollos watered, and God gave the growth (1 Cor 3:6) — but
then there was tending to be done, which falls to us! We're looking for a few friends who will help to lovingly
care for our church grounds. If you're interested in organizing a crew to clean, spruce, mulch, prune, etc.,
all the better! Please contact Roe Granger or the church office
(nianticcommchurch [at]
sbcglobal [dot] net).

New London Association, United Church of Christ
The New London Association is a group of UCC churches in New London County. The Association
plays an important role in authorizing ministers to serve our churches (and, when necessary, disciplining clergy).
It also gives support to churches going through pastoral transitions or developing new missions.
The Association is seeking: a Vice-Moderator for a two-year term; an at-large member of the Executive
Committee for a two-year term; and another at-large member for a three-year term. Interested? Contact
Pastor John (
jnelson [at] nianticcommunitychurch [dot] org) for more information.
